We come alongside refugees and asylum seekers, families in crisis, those who are homeless, recovering addicts and women working in the sex industry. We help to build networks and community to support people in crisis and need, partnering with other charities and organisations who demonstrate good practice. Our Nottingham Partners

Coach

Reach Nottingham are partnered with COACH and are delivering the family mentoring programme. Their aim is to see participants and their families grow in resilience and confidence, generational cycles of problems broken and the encouragement of long term connection and a sense of belonging within local communities. They’ve set up referral pathways with a local GP surgery and school and are starting to see referrals being made.

Safe Families for Children

Safe Families for Children (Safe Families) works hand-in-hand with children’s services to link families in need with local volunteers who can offer them help and support.

When a crisis strikes a family with children, its effects can be devastating. Many of us would turn to relatives and friends for support but some families can be really isolated with nobody there to help them. Stabilising families before they reach a breaking point is key to reducing the number of children who need to go into care. An award-winning charity, Safe Families has benefitted over 6000 children since it was launched in the UK in 2013.

Welcome Boxes

Welcome Boxes specifically equips churches to welcome and support asylum seekers, housed in Home Office accommodation. Trained volunteers deliver a Welcome Box, filled with small gifts, to the homes of people who have recently arrived in the area. They provide information about local groups and services and support asylum seekers to find a place to belong within community. Reach Nottingham and Reach Leicester both run Welcome Boxes in their cities.
